Noelle Steines, a sophomore at Calamus Wheatland High in Iowa, won the girls 1,500 meters in a lifetime-best 4:35.22 at the 113th Drake Relays at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Steines elevated to the No. 17 all-time Iowa prep competitor, rebounding from a seventh-place finish in the 800 in 2:13.78. Steines joined her mother, Jessica (Huff) Steines, in winning a Drake Relays individual title, an 800 championship in 1999 for Marshalltown High.
